Coleman Duel Fuel Camp Stove

Coleman Duel Fuel Camp Stove

We have all been there, well I’ve been there! Waking up after a night under canvass to the sound of bacon sizzling around you. Good job you bought that bacon yesterday, just get the stove on. To your devastation the gas has run out and the shops closed! That’s the beauty of the Coleman Duel Fuel range, I run mine on unleaded petrol it will also run on Coleman’s own brand of fuel, but I think that defeats the object. It works by pumping a lever in the stove reservoir turning the fuel into a gas, very simple but a great idea. Mine has never let me down, you can cook a meal for four on thirty little pumps of the handle!

The reservoir is the silver container on the front of the stove and the pump is on the far side and the red funnel in the picture also filters the fuel of debris so the stove can even be used with dirty fuel (well you’d hope petrol isn’t dirty over here, we pay enough for it!). The main appeal for this stove for me is the fact its never hard to find petrol in the UK. I find it also works out cheaper running a petrol stove than a gas equal, even with petrol being expensive.

SPORK

What’s a spork? Well its a spoon, fork and a knife all in one! Made from a heat resistant plastic, in a rainbow of colors you won’t have any trouble finding the one that suits you! I use my Spork all the time for general camp eating, great for soup, stews and stirring your brew! Great little gadget, very handy to have around!

Scalby Mills, Scarborough

Scalby Mills, Scarborough

The site lies just north of the Victorian seaside town. It is the ideal base for exploring the many cliffs and beaches of Yorkshire’s coast, while inland you will find the spectacular North York Moors. I stayed at this campsite on May bank holiday for three nights and had a brilliant time. The site is very clean and has excellent toilet and shower facilities. The Site has its own shop, chippy (great for a lazy tea!) and gamehouse.

We walked from the campsite along the cliffs, past the sealife centre and to Scarborough resort in just under an hour. A very nice walk giving you the best of both worlds, green fields and fresh sea air!

Definatly worth a visit!

You can book online on the Camping and Caravanning club site or telephone.

QUECHUA 2 SECONDS XXL IIII 4 MAN POP UP TENT

QUECHUA 2 SECONDS XXL IIII 4 MAN POP UP TENT
One of the biggest offerings of Quetcha’s pop-up range and this one is not going to dissapoint. The tent takes around 5 minutes to get set up once you gte the hang of it, and around the same for putting down. The two minutes they advertise is a little to quick for your average camper unless your an athlete.

Space

This tent is designed for four people with enough room to sit around a table if the weathers not looking up which is great and amazing considering how easy it is to put up.

Quality

Ive used this tent on many occasions through heavy rain, thunderstorms and heavy wind. The tent performed brilliantly and is suprisingly stable in the wind when all pegged down correctly.

Overall

Great tent ideal for long weekends, easy to put up and take down, leaves other campers looking in amazement.

You can buy this tent now here.

Specs

  • Dimensions and weight:- Inner tent: 2.10 m long and 2.40 m wide. Mini living area with max. headroom of 1.50 at the centre. 8 kg.
  • Inner tent space:- Enough space for 4, ideal for 3, luxurious for 2.
  • Living area and storage space:- Its 2nd most important feature: 4 people can sit comfortably around a table… a benefit that comes in really useful on a rainy night! Equipped with a groundsheet.
  • Entrance/exit:- A large door that opens wide in a single operation and is big enough to enter without having to crawl. This door is equipped with mosquito netting that can be closed – the peak at the top of the door allows you to open the window even when it is raining, so you can enjoy the outdoor scenery whatever the weather.
  • Pitching/folding away:- Its most important feature: There’s a trick to pitching the tent: position and secure the groundsheet for the whole tent before unfolding it. This makes it easier to position and pitch the tent properly. Then, it unfolds and pitches in 2 minutes once you get the hang of the pitching technique. Folds away in under 5 minutes once you’ve got the hang of it.
